Abstract:

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of endurance activity on XBP-1 protein content in sciatica tissue of diabetic male Wistar rats. Materials and Methods: The experimental design was a post-test design with control group. In this study, 32 male Wistar 10 weeks old rats with the mean weight of 253.16 (±10.16) grams were randomly divided into four groups: healthy control, healthy exercise, diabetic control and diabetic training group. An intraperitoneal injection of STZ (45 mg / kg) solution was used to induce diabetes after 12 hours fasting, 48 hours after STZ injection, the moderate-intensity endurance protocol was performed for 6 weeks. Twenty-four hours after the last training session, the mice were exposed and their sciatic nerve was extracted. The amount of XBP-1 protein was measured by ELISA method. For statistical analysis, SPSS software and two-way ANOVA with repeated measure and independent T-test were used. Results: Data analysis showed that endurance activity had an effect on the amount of XBP-1 protein and reduced the protein content, so that the difference was significant in the diabetic training group compared to the diabetic control group (P-value: 0.007). Conclusion: These findings indicated that moderate aerobic exercise has a significant effect on the amount of XBP-1 protein in healthy and diabetic rats.

The Effects of Six Weeks Endurance Training on Soleus and Extensor Digitorum Longus Myonuclear Number in Diabetic Male Wistar Rats

Objective: The importance of skeletal muscle as the largest metabolic tissue in diabetes remains more unknown than other metabolic tissues of the body. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of six weeks endurance training on the soleus and extensor digitorum longus (EDL) myonuclear number in diabetic male wistar rats. Materials and Methods: In this study, 40 male wistar rats ab...

EFFECTS OF SIX WEEKS ENDURANCE TRAINING ON PROTEIN LEVELS OF GLUT4 AND HDAC5 IN SOLEUS MUSCLE IN DIABETIC RATS

Background: Increased expression of HDAC5 reduces the expression of GLUT4 in slow-twitch fibers, and this mechanism has not been studied in diabetes. Therefore, the purpose of study was to investigate the effect of six weeks endurance training on protein levels of GLUT4 and HDAC5 in soleus muscle in diabetic rats. Methods: For this purpose, 32 male Wistar rats (weight: 245±9.4 g) were randomly...

The Effect of Six Weeks of Endurance Training on Mitochondrial Level of OPA-1 Quadriceps in Streptozotocin-induced Diabetic Rats

Introduction: Mitochondrial dynamic disorders are attributed to many diseases such as diabetes. MFN2 and OPA-1 proteins are the main regulators of fusion, and DRP1 is the essential protein regulating mitochondrial fission. Increasing or decreasing the expression of relevant genes will cause an imbalance between these two processes. This study evaluated the effect of six weeks of aerobic trainin...

The effect of endurance training on dynein motor protein expression in Wistar male rats sciatic nerves with diabetic neuropathy

Introduction: Most neurodegenerative diseases are associated with the disruption of axonal transport and this might also be related to diabetes-associated disorders affecting the nervous system. Cytoplasmic dynein is a very important motor driving the movement of a wide range of cargoes toward the minus ends of microtubules. The effects of endurance training on dynein motor protein expression i...

The Study of SAD1/UNC-84 Domain Protein 1 in Muscle of Diabetic Male Wistar Rats

Objective: The purpose of this study was to measure the changes of the SUN1 protein levels on soleus muscle in diabetic male wistar rats. Materials and Methods: Twenty male Wistar rats with 10 weeks old and weighing 200-250 grams were selected. After two weeks, the rats were divided into two groups (diabetic group and healthy group). After 12 hours fasting, diabetes was induced by intraperiton...
